Rodney Trask is the Chicago Fire City Pre-Academy coach for all ages under-10. Coach Trask developed the Pre-Academy model to develop elite players on the path to the Chicago Fire Academy. He created the Chicago United Junior Academy from 2008-2013 with a focus on technical skills and age-appropriate activities to enhance the development of young players. With many Junior Academy graduates going on to the Chicago Fire Academy, the Chicago Fire brought him in 2013 to create the Fire Pre-Academy model. Since 2013, the Fire Pre-Academy has grown and is now expanded to all Chicago Fire Juniors clubs with direct ties to the Fire Academy. As an educator at the Frances Xavier Warde School (FXW) since 2008, he has an expertise in child development and best practices in teaching methods at the younger ages.
Coach Trask has an NSCAA Youth Coaching License and a USSF “E” License. He also has a degree in Education and a Masters in School Leadership.
Coach Trask’s philosophy for youth development focuses on technical skill, understanding of the game, and building a life-long passion for futbol.
